Manual on Myo Holistic Wellness of Practice is established by Jiliang Xiao, who is a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist in New York State. Here at Manual on Myo Holistic Wellness of Practice our mission is to provide therapeutic healing arts by using manual therapy techniques that developed from eastern holistic medical concepts to prevent disease, reduce the physical strain, mental stress, restore health and enhance body’s well-being.

Techniques origin:

Manual on Myo stands for Manipulate on Myofascial Tissues and the clinic was established in 2012 when Jiliang Xiao graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Xiao discovered that myofascial tissues should be kept in a smooth condition, which is very important for human health. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine concept, the meridian, energy aka Qi/Chi and blood are free flow and produce in this specific area. In recent years the western medicine approved this Traditional Chinese Medicine concept, and named this interstitial space  as interstitium a newfound “organ” is published in the journal Scientific Reports in March 2018. The interstitial space is filled with fluids and that are nourishing the myofascial tissues. If the myofascial tissues are damaged, It could manifest physical and mental illness. According to Jiliang Xiao’s understanding, the prevention of illness is much more important than treatment itself. In today’s busy world people are willing to spend money to maintain their expensive car but rarely to take care of their own health. One day the person may be feeling fine, but the next day falls  to preventable illness . Xiao developed Manual on Myo a Holistic Manual Therapy, combining Myofascial Tissue and Traditional Chinese Medicine’s hand on therapy. to restore health and enhance the well-being of his patients.

Sinew Practice stands for Manipulation on tendomuscular Tissues or call Five Tissue Layers Stripping Technique and this technique was discovered and developed in 2015 when Jiliang Xiao graduated from New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine . The Sinew Practice is a deep tissue manual therapy but if the practitioner directly works on a deep layer it could aggravate the patient’s pain due to body self-protection, the practitioner should  patiently isolate the layers and that’s why the technique is also called Five Tissue Layers Stripping Technique. Five Tissue Layers including: Skin, Muscles, Vessels, Tendons/ Ligaments, bones.Xiao learned in his practice of acupuncture that many patients are suffering from chronic joint pain. Many patients who opt to receive surgery and joint replacement, are still from the joint pain. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, humans have a special meridian called Tendomuscular Meridian that runs along with regular Chinese Medicine meridians. These meridians are collected and dispersed on joints and deep connective tissues. This concept is often overlooked by the ordinary acupuncturist. Jiliang Xiao with his unique understanding he developed the Sinew Practice Manual Therapy and helps many patients who have joint problems or any pain related deep tissues as tendons and ligaments that are hard to heal. Many of these were previously under care of  physical therapy, chiropractor, acupuncture and massage therapy but found no success. Patients who suffer from chronic pain are recommended to  try the Sinew Practice before any other invasive procedure.

Manual Therapy Adverse Reaction:

Dizziness: For the patients who are weakly constituted, nervous, over sensitive to pain, and hungry, heavy manipulations can cause dizziness, therefore, any of these patients should avoid receiving the treatment.

Exacerbation of pain: Patient’s pain usually feel worse  if the patients are not receiving manual therapy often even feel more pain after the treatment, this is due to manipulation cause soft tissue got temporarily inflammation that called healing response, the manipulation possibly cause tiny micro tears in the soft tissue that lead more blood flow and healing to that area make the day-after soreness and pain, general speaking this pain will disappear within couple of days.
